The project IoT Devices and Platforms for living environments in the digital transformation era, abbreviated with the acronym DIPME, is part of the PNRR VITALITY program – SPOKE 6, namely “Innovation, digitalisation and sustainability for the diffused economy in Central Italy” and has several objectives, including: – Design and develop low-power IoT devices, integrable into life-saving furniture and equipped with advanced functionalities for seismic event detection (early-warning) and for monitoring presence and habits in living environments;

  • Develop an open-source and cloud-based IoT platform, capable of collecting, processing and displaying in real-time the data collected by the devices, promoting interoperability with other systems and contextual analysis of environments;
  • Integrate Smart Energy modules, aimed at collecting data on energy consumption and promoting more sustainable resource management;
  • Create demonstrators in real environments (e.g. schools, public buildings) to validate the technological solutions in synergy with the SPOKE 6 project, contributing to the digital and sustainable transition of living spaces.

    The project achieved tangible results represented by the technological components developed and the real demonstrators installed in operational environments. All these solutions were validated through the implementation of the two real demonstrators planned by the project:
    · the IoT demonstrator for seismic safety at the “Fermi Sacconi Ceci” Institute in Ascoli Piceno and replica at the Computer Science Hub of the University of Camerino;
    · the Smart Energy demonstrator at the Computer Science Hub of the University of Camerino.
